As much as we hated to remove this large dogwood tree, it was where the
greenhouse supposed to go.  It took Peggy several days to dig it up.
We placed the 2nd floor
joists 16 inches apart
right on top of the 6x6
support beams and nailed
them to the beams.  The
support beam knee braces
are larger than the ones
on the walls since the
support beams will be
carrying a greater weight.
The walls are made
with 2x4's 16" apart.
Before cutting the
rough openings for the
doors and windows,
we determined the
type, size and style of
doors and windows we
wanted.
Due to a major ice
storm a couple of
years back we have
had a lot of dead
limbs to clean up
from the property.
Here we are cleaning
the path behind the
shop.
The 2x4 studs are helping to
reinforce the skeletal structure.
The remaining door and window
openings are ready for the arrival
of special ordered materials.
Peggy is enjoying the view from
the second story.
